Probably the greatest success story in smart battery chargers is still the best low cost option for anybody to consider. TRUEcharge started smart charging technology, and even today their performance still outranks the more "modern" competitors. Providing a fast and accurate charge for any application the Truecharge is a true "connect and forget" charger. Once the Truecharge has completed its charging cycle, it drops to a safe "Float" voltage to maintain the batteries charge.

Many other multi step chargers are easily fooled into delivering an improper charge which can damage your batteries. For example, other brands detect completion of the charging cycle when charging current drops below a threshold value. These chargers will keep charging indefinitely at dangerously high charging voltage if a load connected to the battery draws more than this threshold point (e.g. Fridges). Truecharge's microprocessor isn't easily fooled; it monitors charging voltage, current and time to make a truly smart decision about when to stop charging.

The output of the Truecharge is also perfect for all sensitive DC applications. Poor quality battery chargers produce large amounts of DC ripple, which is picked up and amplified by some equipment designed to be run from DC power. The Truecharge uses a non-pulsing charge output current to ensure that the DC output is very smooth – to the point of being as close as you can get to ripple free. In many cases the only noise you will ever hear of your smart batterycharger would be the cooling fan operating (on 40amp model only).

The Truecharge range constantly is working on recharging your batteries when connected. Plug the charger in and watch the bar graph showing the charger current being delivered to the batteries. Then every 15 minutes of operation see it stop charging to calibrate internal current measuring circuit and check for new or disconnected batteries.

Easily Equalise your Batteries Equalization mode is a controlled overcharge used periodically (e.g. once each month) to help dissolve any recently solidified sulphate deposits on the battery plates. The Equalize feature is only available on the Truecharge 20i or 40i and is easily initiated by the pressing of a small recessed button just below the "Charging" indicator. Just let the equalisation run its own course, or simply turn the charger off after a few hours for peace of mind.
For installations where you cannot see the actual front of the Truecharge, simply install the optional remote panel for complete readouts of what the charger is doing (20 & 40amp models only).

The optional Temperature sensor can be installed on Truecharge (20 & 40amp models only) to completely automate the charging process for your battery type.
