Matson Electronic battery chargers use sophisticated switchmode technology resulting in a compact , lightweight charger able to deliver performance not possible from traditional linear chargers , resulting in a fully charged and maintained battery and extended battery life.

Matson Electronic battery chargers can be left permanently connected without supervision for a fully maintained battery.

Charging Principle

After the sensing period (the charger will not charge a faulty battery) the battery is charged with maximum current until the battery voltage reaches 14.7V (14.1V for GEL Charger), this is referred to as the Bulk Stage. The charger then switches to the Absorption Stage where constant voltage and decreasing current are used to ensure the battery is 100% charged. Stage 3 is the Maintenance or Float Stage where the charge voltage is set at 13.8V to keep the battery at 100% charge until needed.
